The Gulmohar tree (Delonix regia), also known as the flamboyant tree, is a striking, fast-growing deciduous tree native to Madagascar but widely planted in tropical and subtropical regions around the world. It is renowned for its large, spreading umbrella-shaped canopy that provides dense shade. The tree produces breathtaking clusters of bright scarlet-orange flowers with yellow and red streaks, typically blooming in late spring or early summer, creating a fiery, eye-catching display. Its pinnate leaves are feathery and fern-like, adding to the tree's ornamental beauty.

The Gulmohar's distinctive, flat, brown seed pods contain several seeds and can be seen hanging from the branches after flowering. This tree is not only admired for its beauty but also used for shade in urban landscapes, along roadsides, and in parks. It thrives in warm climates and is known for its drought tolerance, making it a popular choice in dry regions.
